Abulfaz Aliyev Gadirgulu (Elchibey) (1938-2000)

Elchibey is a state, political and public figure of Azerbaijan and a dissident. He was the first democratically elected president in the history of Azerbaijan. The historical Act on the independency of Azerbaijan was adopted (October 18, 1991) as a result of the intensive struggle of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party headed by Elchibey.
