He is a world-wide famous football referee. The whole world later became aware of Bahramov’s just solution when he made a disputable goal of Jeffrey Hertz count in a final match of Germany team vs. England team (1966). In that period “Golden whistle” was only given to the chief referees. After this game the Queen of Great Britain herself presented Bahramov with “Golden goddess” prize. In spite of the fact that Tofig Bahramov was a linesman in this match, Queen of Britain presented our compatriot with small models of “Golden whistle” and “Golden goddess”. Thus, he became the only linesman in the history of the world football to be awarded “Golden whistle”.
