The Economic Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the upper judicial body on economic disputes. Economic Court likewise the Court of Appeal instance deals with appeal complaints and protests on decisions of local economic courts in the manner prescribed by law and arising from international agreements.
The personnel structure of the Court (currently consists of 11 judges) includes the court chairman, deputy chairman and judges. Economic Court consists of the Presidium and court personnel to deal with cases.
Chairman of the Presidium of the Economic Court functions in the structure consisted of Chairman of the Economic Court, his deputy and court personnel. Members of the Presidium of the Economic Court shall have equal rights within their competence.
The Presidium of the Economic Court considers the relevant summaries of judicial practice and judicial statistics, analysis of the materials, listens information of these courts on practice of  application of the legislation; applies to the Supreme Court for the sending an enquiry to Constitution Court on inconformity of legislative and other normative acts in the economic sphere to the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Constitution ; it appoints the judges from the judge personnel of the Economic Court; render methodical assistance to the Economic Court and economic courts on disputes arisen from  international agreements regarding proper application of legislation; and exercises other powers vested in it by legislation.
The Economic Court is arranged in the city of Baku, and its jurisdiction is extended to the whole territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
