Vocational Education

Secondary specialized education plays the important part of the economy in providing   with qualified (skilled) cadres of different areas. Secondary specialized education being a part of the system of continuous education settles two problems connected with each other: mastering of different professions by young and their general compulsory study.

By Decree of President of Azerbaijan Republic On improvement of education system in Azerbaijan Republic” dated June 13, 2000 some establishments of secondary specialized education being under subordination of various organizations were given to subordination of the Ministry of Education and it allowed to carry out fundamental changes in education system , change the structure of training of personnel and improvement of educational institutions network.

At the same time certain works have been carried out in the country since 200 in the filed of creation of education complexes. So, by Decree of President of Azerbaijan Republic On improvement of education system in Azerbaijan Republic” dated June 13, 2000 Art College under National Contemporary Art Academy, Music College under the National Conservatory was organized.  Construction College has been created under the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction by Decision No 195 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan Republic dated  23.12.2004.

Since 2008 multi pointed system of assessing of knowledge of students in secondary specialized education establishments was introduced as an experiment. For these purposes “Temporary regulations on assessing of knowledge of students on multi pointed system were prepared and approved by order No 231 of the Ministry of Education dated Feb 20, 2008.

During the passed years the normative-legal base of the secondary specialized education almost was entirely formed. Public policy carried out in the area of secondary specialized education allowed to change it in content, improve the structure of preparing of specialists according to current social economic conditions.
