Hussein Javid mostly is known as a dramatist. His philosophical and historical tragedies, the family-life dramas in terms of style, form innovation have created a new stage in the dramaturgy of Azerbaijan, as well as a strong influence on the development of the national theatrical culture. In his dramaturgy the universal, great socio-political and cultural important problems of the time were reflected.

In literature of Azerbaijan, in the first tragedy in verse Sheikh Sanan (1914) he put forward idea of universal religion to connect peoples.He was a victim of repression.
