About 19  thousands exhibits had been collected  in the museum. Museum has been placed in December of the 1993 in Baku, at fund of the independence museum.

As the region is presently under occupation of Armenia, it is located in Baku city temporarily. 

Over 9 thousand exhibits reflecting the nature of the Fuzuli region have been collected in the museum.  During July-August of 1993 when the region was undergoing to the Armenian occupation  7 thousand exhibits of the region was withdrawn from there and placed in İstiqlal museum in Baku.

As the region occupied now by Armenia, the museum is located in Sumgait city temporarily.  More than 600 exhibits have been collected at the fund of the museum after occupation.

About 5 thousands exhibits, various items were collected in Shusha Historical museum, which covered a period till XX century. Due to Armenian occupation it does function at present.
