Azerbaijani language is the state language of the Azerbaijan Republic and basic communicative means of the different people living in Azerbaijan.
At the same time Azerbaijani language is the native language of the more than 30 millions Azerbaijanians living in Islamic Republic of Iran. This language is being used also by 200 thousand people once moved to Iraq (probably this move occurred at middle ages. As per other assumption turkmans are descendants of ancient Turks being a neighbor of ancient Sumerians). They call themselves as kerkuk and live mainly in areas of Kerkuk, Mosul, Nineva, Telafer, Jinjar etc.
From traditional – morphologic or typological classification Azerbaijani language has been included to the group of agglutinative languages. Compared to inflected languages (Indo-European, Semito-Hamitic etc languages) roots of all words in Azerbaijani language are words with independent lexical and grammatical meaning, but grammatical meanings and grammatical connections are expressed always by single meaning (monosemantic) suffixes coming after root of word and base of word.
