Azerbaijan Culture Friends Foundation (ACFF)

ACFF is a non-governmental charity foundation. It was established in 1995. The chairman of the foundation is Mehriban Aliyeva, goodwill ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, and Member of Parliament. The object of the foundation: to develop and publicize our national culture, to introduce our culture more extensively in the foreign countries, to ensure the integration of Azerbaijani people into the world culture, to establish new international relations. The work of the Foundation is conducted in 3 directions: cultural events, charity actions, and publication.

The foundation organized the jubilee nights of a number of outstanding art figures of Azerbaijan, published special issues of “Azerbaijan-Heritage” magazine, issued the CDs of many figures of art.

The concerts, theater performances, presentations of figures of art of foreign countries, festivals, days of culture, etc held by the Foundation are events of international scale. The speeches of world famous figures of art in Baku are among these events as well. Among these events it is necessary to especially note “Great Silk Road” International Classical Music Festival and Days of Korean Culture held together with SEBA (Seoul-Baku) Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange Association. 

One of the main objectives of the Foundation is to publicize and popularize Azerbaijan Mugam on the world-scale, as well as to care the singer and musicians that keep this great art alive. Among the steps taken in this direction, the foundation of “Baku Mugam center”, the issue of exquisite, comprehensive, and colorful “Garabakh khanendeleri” music album and its being popularized in many prestigious centers of art, “Baku Fall” international festival, IX East-West International Film Festival in Baku, “Advertisement Greedy  Night” demonstration of international ad films, Baku International Jazz Festival held for the 3rd time in 2007 have already become traditional. 

Due to the scale and high level of cultural events and charity actions, ACFF gained great attention and appraisal not only in our country, but in many countries of the world, and has great reputation in the international arena.
