Lutfi Zade (Lotfi Zadeh)
Lutfi Zade is a scientist of Azerbaijan origin, a founder of theory of fuzzy logic in the area of artificial intellect, professor of University of California, Berkeley. He is the only man to be elected the lifelong professor of this institution of higher education. He is an honoured chairman of Azerbaijan diaspora organization in America. Lotfi Zadeh is a member of many academies in the foreign countries. He is considered a scientist whose works are most referred to in the world. Only in 1990-2000 his works were referred to more than 36000 times. 

Ms.İren Melikoff
Ms.İren was born in St. Petersburg in 1917. She moved to France together with her family. She is Azerbaijani, Doctor of Philology and a professor. She graduated from the English-teaching lycee in France. While studying in Sorbonne University, she at the same time was mastering Arabian, Farsi and Turkish at the Institute of Oriental Languages. In 1947 returning back to France she defended a thesis on the theme of “Turkish eposes of the Middle ages” for Doctor of Philosophy and became a professor of Strasburg University. The range of her scientific interests is very extensive. She is the author of about 400 scientific works, such as “Koroglu”, “Umur pasha”, “Melik Danishmand”, “Seyid Batdal”, Babek movement, the history of Gizilbash, the works of Abu Huseyn Khorasan, Khatai, M.F.Axundov and a number of other monographs and philologic studies. The Turkish department was opened at Strasburg University at the initiative of Ms Melikoff and soon it turned into a research institute with Ms Iren as a director. The center was founded to research the culture of Azerbaijan in the institute. In 1966 I.Melikoff published a magazine “Turkika” to introduce the history, literature and the culture of the Turkic nations to the French readers. The works of Anar, Chingiz Huseynov, Sara Ashurbeyli, Tofig Melikov and a number of the other Azerbaijani authors were published in this magazine.
Ms Iren Melikoff was a chairman of the Center of cultural relations of France and Azerbaijan. 

Masud Afandiyev
Masud Afandiyev is a mathematician and a professor. After he studied two years in the faculty of mechanics and mathematics at Azerbaijan State University (the present BSU), he continued his education at Moscow State University named after M.Lomonosov.
At present he lives in Germany. He taught in Munich, Stuttgart, Berlin. He is a head of the Department of “Dynamic Systems” at the Munich Research Center named after H.Helmholts. M. Afandiyev was awarded   A.fon Humbold Prize instituted by the state of Germany. He is the first Azerbaijani who got the honorary premium. In 2005 he was awarded the honorary prize of “Japan Society for the Promotion of Science -JSPS” of the Japan organization. His monographs published at the most respected Publishing houses of Germany, America and Japan is a great contribution to the world science.

Rufat Mirgasymov Mir-Asadulla
He is a distinguished physics, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. He was born in Baku. He graduated from the physics faculty of Moscow State University. At present he works at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna (in Russia).

Natig Atakishiev Mammad
He is a professor of mathematics. He graduated from Baku State University. He works at the Institute of Mathematics. 

Tofig Melikov Davud
He is an expert in literature and critic. He got an education at the faculty of Oriental Studies at Azerbaijan State University (1960-1965). He worked as an announcer at the Azerbaijan State Television and Broadcasting Committee (1965). He continued his education in the postgraduate courses at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1965-1969). In 1976-1978 he was working in Turkey. 1991-1994 he was working as a professor in the faculty of literature at Istanbul University in Turkey. 

In 1994 he was a leading scientific worker at the World Literature Institute in Moscow. At present he is a professor of Moscow State Linguistic University. At the same time he is a vice-president of International Turcological and Cultural Foundation (1991).

Sabir Huseynzade Majid
Sabir Huseynzade is a prominent mathematician. He graduated from the faculty of mechanics and mathematics of Moscow State University. At present he is a professor of the department of high geometry and topology of the same faculty. He is a secretary of Moscow Mathematical Society.

Farman Salmanov is a geologist, social figure, doctor of geology and mineralogy, corresponding member of REA, Lenin laureate and Hero of Socialist Labour.
F.Salmanov worked as a geologist, chief geologist, a head of oil exploration expedition of Novosibirsk Geological institution in 1954-1959, head of Surgut Oil Exploration Expedition in 1959-62 years, chief geologist of Tyumen Chief Geological Institution in 1969-70, since 1978 chief of this Chief Institution. At the end of 80s and beginning of 90s F.G.Salmanov works as the First Deputy Minister of Geology of USSR. Under his direction 20 Gas and Oil fields were found in Surgut, Salymsk, Pravdinsk, Mamontovsk, Somotlor, Urengoy and at the other places of the West Siberia. F.G.Salmanov is an author of a number of scientific works on Oil and Gas Geology problems. “Formation condition and distribution laws of oil and gas fields”, “Geology of oil and gas of West Siberia”, “Distribution laws of large oil and gas fields in the Earth crust”, “Acceleration of explorations” are his fundamental works.
