Internet portals, media and news

The development of internet media in Azerbaijan has begun since 1996. Until this time, only electronic mails were used as the means of information distribution in the network. The foundation of internet media in the country was laid with the “Zerkalo” (www.zerkalo.az) newspaper in the russian-language mass media, and with the “New Musavat” (www.musavat.com) newspaper in the Azerbaijan-language mass media. “Turan” information agency is also considered one of the founders of internet media in the country : www.turan.az

Later, the internet adresses of newspapers, including «Freedom» (www.azadliq.az), «Newspaper № 525” (www.525ci.com) «Mirror» (www.ayna.az), «Our century» (http://bizimasr.media-az.com/), «Azerbaijan» (http://www.azerbaijan-news.az/), “Time” (www.zaman.com.az), and the “Trend” information agency  (www.trend-az.com) was formed. 

The first electronic newspaper in Azerbaijan was “Civil society”. The paper was established in the 1990s. 

“Bakutoday.net” is the first English-language online newspaper founded in the 2000s. This is an English-language news paper for the Caucasus and Caspian region. 

Currently there are many internet newspapers in the country.

Site is the activity of any enterprise in the internet. The use of internetional internet network, which is one of the greatest innovations of the XXI century, formed a new type of Mass Media. Now, there are many internet sites of Mass Media along with the print version.
