It is clear from the name that the homeland of chinaware is China.  The china is as white as snow with a little glitter. It is heatproof and its coating is resistant in comparison with faience ware. One can hear an clear and continous sound when slightly striking his sides.

History
The making of porcelain goes back to VII century of chronology of Christianity. The invention of chinaware was an important step in pottery. But the chinese concealed the technology of making the china as their other inventions and discoveries. That is why the chinaware was not widely spread at first. The invention of the porcelain in China was not a pure accident: there was rich natural resources for getting the best sort of clay material. The Persians called the chinese imperator “Fagfur” which meant “the son of the Almighty”. And this word was spread in the East and the West. In many countries and Azerbaijan as well farfor ware was then called china ware (i.e. chinese ware). The secret of the Chinese was revealed in Europe in XVIII century. During a short period of time the production of porcelain spreaded all over the world. The history of turkic china craftsmanship refers to the first tukic state of Garakhanli. The great Seljuks and Anadolu seljuks used china in architecture a lot.
A new period in porcelain craftsmanship started with the formation of Ottoman Empire. During the period of Ottoman Empire china was used in Green Mosque and tomb of Bursa (1421), Muradiye Mosque of Bursa (1426), Muradiye Mosque of Edirne (1433) and China pavilion (1472). This was mostly china mozaik and china worked with dye.

Porcelain production in Azerbaijan
The second city of Azerbaijan Ganja was the main center of production of faience ware for centuries. This craftsmanship still exists there. The best sort of the clay obtained from surrounding territories being processed in two large pottery workshops turned into faience and porcelain of high quality.
Since the middle of the last century the production of porcelain assumed wide scope. Ganja Porcelain Works has been operating since 1970th and producing china and ceramic products and especially china and ceramic ware.
