Shamakhi

It is located in Shamakhi region in village Maraza, at foothill of mountain. It is two-storied.  Diribaba tomb was used as memorial mosque. In decorative inscription belt, separating the floors of the building, the date of its construction is shown as 805 hegira (Greg 1402).

 

One of the oldest mosques in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Shamakhi Juma Mosque was built in 743 and is the most ancient mosques in the South Caucasus after the mosque built in the Middle East and Derbend (733-734).
