Mohammad Fizuli

Medieval ages famous Azerbaijani poet and thinker. Hi is known in the history of eastern literature as outstanding representative of divan genre. His works were several times published in Tabriz, Baku, Istanbul, Ankara, Cairo, Tashkent, Bukhara, Ashgabat,  and were highly evaluated by world  orientalists.

In 1994 the UNESCO had adopted decision in connection with celebrating the 500th anniversary of Mohammad Fizuli at global level and the jubilee year was declared by UNESCO as year of Fizuli
