Salyan city is city which was established along the ancient caravan route tat united the cities of the north and west of Azerbaijan with cities in the south and with the countries of Upper East. The name of this city taken from name of tribe sal. As it is said this city was by built the representatives of that tribe. 

There are Qumlavar bridge (XII century), Khanagah complex of buildings in the village Gubali Baloglan (XIX century), which are considered to be architectural examples. And Tandirkhana caravanserai in Salyan city was built in the eastern style.
