The Ministry Of Defence Industry Of Republic Of Azerbaijan

Ministry of Defense Industry is the central organ of executive power implementing the state policy and regulations in the fields of defense, radioelectronics, and instrument-making industries in accordance with the directions defined by the legislation.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev had instructed with Decree No 1181, dated December 16, 2005 to abolish the State Committee for Special Engineering and Conversion of the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to improve the management structure  and to establish the Ministry of Defense Industry on its base.

Regulations of the Ministry of Defense Industry of Republic of Azerbaijan was approved by the Decree No 462 of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated 27 September 2006.

The Ministry of Defense Industry works out the draft legislation of the scope of it activity, carries out legal control in the framework of its competence in the field of defense industry. The Ministry of Defense industry implements the purchase of defense products, placing orders, holding tenders for rendering services, conduction of scientific-research and experimental- constructor works, creation of goods, its production and improvement in accordance legislation in force, conclude contracts, carries out import & export of goods and raw, materials, equipment and   scientific and technical information used in the field of defense industry. 

This institution ensures the implementation of international agreements, being joined by Republic of Azerbaijan, within its power, cooperates with the relevant international organizations, foreign countries, agencies, and studies the practice of foreign countries.
