Copyright Agency of Republic of Azerbaijan

Copyright Agency of Republic of Azerbaijan is central executive authority carrying out the state policy on copyright, related rights, intellectual property rights on the samples of folklore, integrated scheme, ensuring legal and regulatory control, the development of intellectual property, coordinating the activities in this area.

The Agency follows the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, laws of the Azerbaijan, decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, orders and decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as international treaties joined by Republic of Azerbaijan and own regulations while implementing its activity.

Agency takes measures to create new forms of social and economic activity by mass using of intellectual property in conformity with needs of society and to create suitable legal conditions for business activity of other owners of right and creative persons engaged in science, literature and art; to ensure preparation and execution of relevant conceptions and programs in the field of intellectual property.

 In addition, in order to regulate development of digital IT and electronic trade it works out the proposals on mechanisms for protection of rights on new objects of the intellectual property and takes proper action and fulfils other tasks stipulated in the legislation of Republic of Azerbaijan
