Mirgasimov Mir Asadulla

In 1945-1947 he was the first President of the Azerbaijan SSR Academy of Sciences. He is one of founders of modern medical education and science in Azerbaijan. In 1927 he became doctor of medical sciences, in 1929 professor and in 1945 was elected as a full member of Academy of Sciences. He is one of the founders of the Academy of Sciences and the Medical University of Azerbaijan.   The first Azerbaijani surgeon-scholar.

His research activity dedicated to study of ethiology of the urinary stone diseases, the treatment and clinic, purulent peritonitis, anaesthesiology, traumatology, urology and urgent matters of surgery.
