The Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations

The Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan December 13, 2007.

The Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations carries out functions like the formation of a new model of relations in community, the modernization of the civil society institutions, the improving of the protection of citizen initiative,  the promotion of the activities of non-governmental organizations in the field of protection of the national interests, their involvement in the solution of social problems, financing of programs and projects which are important for the development of the state and society development.

The Council of State Support to NGOs implements  the propaganda of Azerbaijan\'s fair stand in the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in foreign countries and international organizations, protection of the rights of refugees and internally displaced persons in the international organizations and international judicial bodies, promotion of the idea of Azerbaijanism, integration of Azerbaijan in the world community, deepening of cooperation with international organizations and non-governmental organizations operating in foreign countries. In addition, this organization provides the formation of the political, legal and civic culture, the development of legal awareness of citizens, provision of human rights and freedom of speech, freedom of opinion and expression, the expansion of social and economic development of regions, development of education, science, technology, culture, and arts, protection of the environment, development of children, women and youth from social, physical and spiritual viewpoint, protection of public health and  financing of programs by the state aimed at the settlement of other problems important for state and society, projects and activities.
