The State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of

In 1906, on the basis of the decision of the city administration inspection booth No 25 was established. That date is date of establishment of the State Agency on Standardization, Metrology and Patent of Republic of Azerbaijan.

In 1931 standardization bureau was organized and the new laboratories were set.

The Committee for Standardization was established in the composition of the Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic in 1966.

After gaining its independence the state policy on standardization and metrology activities conducted by the Center for Standardization and Metrology in the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers.

By Decree No 623 of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 27, 2001 the State Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Standardization, Metrology and Patents has been established.

By an order of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 19, 2008, the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents on the base of the State Agency has been established.

The Committee implements the state policy in the area of standardization, metrology, certification and protection of industrial property objects, prepares state programs in these areas and ensures its implementation, and coordinates the activities of other state and local government agencies, economic subjects in this field.
