Miralasgar Mirgasimov

The sculptor had graduated from the State Art School named after A. Azimzade in 1944, and in  from 1950 Leningrad painting, Sculpture and Architecture Institute  named after I.Repin.

Among the most famous works of sculptor the bust of Mirza Alakbar Sabir (gypsum, 1947, the Azerbaijan State Art Museum), Ukhuru statue (Freedom, gypsum, 1961, the State Picture Gallery), Khazri (gypsum, 1970, the State Picture Gallery) can be mentioned. From his monumental works buts of Lenin (bronze, granite, 1957), Jalil Mammadguluzadeh (bronze, 1974, Nakhchivan), Jafar Jabbarli (granite, 1982, Baku), Nariman Narimanov (bronze-granite 1964, Sumgait) can be particularly mentioned.

Miralasgar Mirgasimov got the title of Honored Art Worker of Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic (1962).
